    Kevin Downey Jr

Comedian, columnist Kevin Downey, Jr. has been recently labeled, “refreshingly bizarre” by fellow comedian Joe Mulligan. Kevin headlined small rooms all over the U.S. and enjoyed a “cult” following, (that means only 28 people dug him), until his frequent and on-going bookings at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, which has brought him to a new level of notoriety. Kevin now works “A” clubs everywhere, and to larger and larger audiences. The Early Years- Whereas most comedians will lie about where they grew up in an effort to gain, “street creds”, comedian, columnist and all around swell guy Kevin Downey, Jr. actually did grow up in Detroit MI. He made his TV debut at age 6 on CKLW’s, “The Bozo Show” where he won a hockey stick, a 12-pack of Orange Crush and some Tootsie Rolls playing, “The Bug Game”. Like all kids in Detroit Kevin attempted to play ice hockey, but his first and only season was cut short when the coach realized Kevin was too small to skate while wearing all the gear, thus clearing the way for Wayne Gretzky to top Gordie Howe’s achievements. Bright Lights burnin’ Gonna set your Soul on Fire- Kevin moved to New York City looking for fame and fortune. He instantly landed a, “part” at Macy’s Santa land as an elf, (some call it the longest running show on Broadway). Kevin was decimated to learn all elves were fired after the Christmas Eve shift. Shortly thereafter Kevin went to his first comedy show at New York’s Comic Strip Live and realized his calling, though it would be three years until he had the stones to get on stage himself. Money for nothing and your chicks for free Today Kevin is headlining clubs everywhere in the U.S. He can be heard on The Bob and Tom Show, Sirius and XM Satellite radio regularly. He’s been on Comedy Central, What Not to Wear, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy where he got a much needed haircut. Kevin appears at the Comedy Stop at the Trop in Las Vegas at least four times per year. He has an ever-growing fan base that comes to see him again and again. He writes a column called, “Drinking on $11 a Night”, which can be read in Bachelor Pad Magazine, GC magazine, at usedwigs.com and drinkingon11.com. Kevin’s song, “Secret Garden of Dirty Little Whores, (who think they’re better than me)”, can be heard on college and traditional radio stations throughout the country. He has a nationally released DVD called, “I’m not Gay, but Dont Stop” which can be found on Amazon and Netflix Kevin is not related to Robert Downey, Jr.

HEADLINING: Richie Redding from Katt WIlliams Growth Spurt Tour

    Richie Redding

    Richie Redding

Richie Redding is one of the funniest guys that you’ve probably never heard of. As a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania it was unlikely that his comedy career start off in urban rooms and burlesque shows, but that’s how it happened. He left the corporate world determined to get paid to have fun which is obvious every time he takes the stage. His set is edgy, high energy and autobiographical, drawing on a lifetime of ridiculous true stories that can only happen to a recovering alcoholic Ivy Leaguer. His boy band looks and colorful word selection have gained him well-deserved attention. In 2012, he was selected to perform in Walter Latham’s Comedy After Dark and became a regular on HOT 97FM. In 2013 he beat out 32 comics from all over the world to win the Bermuda International Comedy Competition and also had his TV debut on AXS TV’s Gotham Live! He has headlined in six foreign countries and also had the honor of being selected to feature in a USO tour of South Korea, entertaining the 30,000 American troops stationed there. 2014 was a pivotal year, as he was hand picked by Katt Williams to be the official host of the Growth Spurt Tour and for the HBO special Priceless. Based on that success, Katt then asked him to be his featured act for the Born Again, Again Tour. His fanbase has grown rapidly since, as he was regularly killing crowds of 10,000 people or more! He continues to be a constant presence in New York’s top clubs, especially after command performances at both the Barclay’s Center and Madison Square Garden.

    Mike Cannon

Mike Cannon is a New York City based comedian and a delightful human being. He thinks being a good human being is more important, but for the purposes of this advertisement will keep his thoughts focused to comedy. Mike was a finalist in the 2016 (and 2014) New York Comedy Festival’s “NY’s Funniest” contest and made his stand up television debut in March 2017 on AXS Gotham Comedy Live. He has recently appeared as a regular guest on Fox’s Red Eye, as a panelist on Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, TruTV’s Top Funniest, MTV’s Failosophy, MTV’s Money From Strangers, MSG’s The Bracket and has been a contributing writer/performer for MTV2’s Guy Code. He currently is a regular guest on several Sirius/XM Radio shows including Opie Radio, The Jim Norton and Sam Roberts Show, Bennington, The Compound Media Network, tons of popular podcasts as well as hosting two of his own – Mike and Tim Visit Earth and Irish Goodbye Podcast. Previously Mike hosted a popular weekly web-series called “The Weed News with Mike Cannon” and his conspiracy theory podcast “Deep Inside the Rabbit Hole.” He was also a co-host of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s web-series Sexy vs Skanky and a featured performer on VH1’s “Why Am I Still Single?” Mike regularly tours the country, but when he is home in New York City he plays all the major clubs and is always working on his act. It makes no difference to him whether he’s performing in a bar, an elevator (done that twice), trying jokes out on his friends, or bothering strangers on the subway for loose change or a sandwich. Comedy is his life, and he is dedicated to making the majority of you laugh and the rest of you confused, yet oddly satiated. He also isn’t sure if he used the word satiated correctly.

BOSTON GLOBE FEATURE

NEW YORK — It’s hard to tell if Jon Rineman is having fun.

At 32, he’s the head monologue writer for “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” the apex for someone whose ambition is to make people laugh. Yet sitting in his closet-size office at Rockefeller Center, Rineman looks uncomfortable, as if he doesn’t belong.

“Everyone here is so fun and cool, and I’m just kind of this weird, lame guy,” he says. “Sometimes, I wonder how I’ve lasted.”

His colleagues and fellow comics know. They say Rineman, a 2005 Emerson graduate who’s worked for Fallon for six years, is indeed dorky, but he’s also a skilled and prolific joke writer. As relentlessly earnest as he may seem, Rineman can grind out dozens of gags a day, and a good percentage of them make it into Fallon’s monologue.

Joe Larson Comic

Joe Larson

Joe Larson

Joe Larson, son of a working comedian, started comedy at an early age and has always had a knack for making light of any situation.  At 20  he really began to seriously pursue stand-up, comedy acting and improv as a potential career when he was chosen “College Comedian of the Year” at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Then the Seattle born and raised Comedian decided he didn’t have enough traffic, smog, and pastrami in his life so he moved to New York City. “I realized that my dream of being the first person on the cover of “O Magazine” other than Oprah wasn’t going to happen on its own.”

Working the comedy circuit on the east coast, Larson found early success.  He was nominated  “Best Up-And-Coming Comedian” at the NYC MAC Awards, and was a finalist in both the prestigious Johnny Carson Great American Comedy Festival and the well respected Boston Comedy Festival.  Any perk of being in New York: He is in a serious relationship with his girlfriend … they’re married. “She proposed to me” he explains….  “At a romantic candlelight dinner she looked me in the eye, held my hands in hers and said, ‘Joe, I’m pregnant.’”

Parenting has given his comedy a whole new spin.  His popular blog, “Man with A Baby” is read and enjoyed by many, and online sketch comedy pieces with “Grandma’s Favorite” are a Youtube favorite.    If you haven’t see him killin’ it on stage, you might have heard Joe on the nationally syndicated “The Bob & Tom Show”. .. or seen him in television appearances on The Tonight Show’s Laugh Squad, “Laughs” on FOX, Gotham Comedy Live, and on the Speed Channel. He’s even had the time to fit in an appearance on the film, “Stand-Up 360”.

Joe Larson has an irreverent, intelligent style that gets to appeals to …  well…. everybody. He says it’s because he just doesn’t care. The only things he cares about are his wife, his child, his hometown, his new town, his mother, his father, his audience and most importantly making people laugh. From a colleges to comedy clubs, Joe has been funny everywhere. And he will do his damnedest to continue entertaining the masses.
